Bluewater Family Support Services is looking for couples interested in providing foster care for children that have experienced complex developmental trauma. Bluewater has developed a non-restraint program that is designed to be intensive, short-term and skill-based.

The planned program outcomes are:

a) Returning children to their caring family or kin; or

b) Readying children for family living in the community.

We are looking for applicants who can combine their compassion and life experience, with Bluewater Family Support Services expertise, to help create change in youth in a family home setting. Caring for someone else's child can be very hard work. Successful  applicants will be supported by the Bluewater Family Support Services team of social workers and support workers.

 

Bluewater’s team has supported the private foster care of extraordinary children since 1982.

 

Qualifications include:

a) Proficiency in English / French

b) Valid Ontario Driver’s License(s);

c) Ability to meet all requirements to be eligible to qualify to provide private foster care in Ontario; and

d) A willingness to participate in Bluewater’s pre-service training and ongoing in-service professional              development.

 

 

Compensation for this position is commensurate with skill and experience.
